Pond Skimmer

The Best Pond Skimmers are those that remove any floating debris off of the surface of the pond.  Mechanical filters are an essential component of the natural pond ecosystem.  Its job is to remove any floating debris off of the surface of the pond before it has a chance to sink to the bottom.  Organic debris such as leaves, if given the chance it will collect at the bottom of the pond creating an unhealthy environment fo the fish.  This organic material will decay and release nitrates and ammonia which can be toxic to the fish and other aquatic life.
